Thompson Motors is built on a proud family heritage dating back to the 1950s in Pietermaritzburg. Initially serving as agents for Nissan, Renault, and UD Trucks, we have maintained our commitment to quality and service throughout the decades.

In December 1974, Clive Thompson expanded our footprint by establishing a Nissan dealership in Shelly Beach. The following year, we extended our presence to Port Shepstone, where we continue to operate today. Rooted in strong family values passed down through generations, we remain dedicated to integrity, service excellence, and community engagement.

Our commitment extends beyond the automotive industry—we actively support numerous charitable organizations, reinforcing our dedication to making a positive impact. Clive Thompson, our Managing Director, continues to lead with passion and experience at our Port Shepstone branch. Meanwhile, Richard Thompson oversees our commercial sector, and Andrew Thompson drives operations at our Shelly Beach branch.
